Welcome & Shalom

Serving the Jewish Communities of State College, Huntingdon & Greater Central PA

 Our Synagogue

Congregation Agudath Achim was established 100 years ago by a group of families in Huntingdon. The building was completed in 1930 and with the help of Hillel students from Junita a garden was added in the 1990's. As the number of resident families declined, the original members of the congregation reached out to interested families in State College; who now comprise the majority of membership in the synagogue. Today we are an inter-generational congregation made up of the original families, residents of the Central Pennsylvania area, and Juniata Hillel students.

Inclusive Congregation

Agudath Achim has many interfaith families in its membership. We are unaffiliated with any national Jewish movement and have members whose backgrounds cover the spectrum of Jewish practice. The heart of our worship is the celebration of community and the participation of all members.

Our membership dues are as modest as they come: $100 dollars a year per family or individual. Some give more, some less depending on their means, it's all good to us!
