Serving The Greater Central
Pennsylvania Area

Playing An Active Role in Our Community

Juniata College Hillel

Picture
Our synagogue in Huntingdon serves as the Hillel house for the Jewish students at Juniata College. Juniata College Hillel members are welcomed as members of Congregation Agudath Achim during their years at Juniata.

In 2015, the Hillel students helped to renovate the kitchen in our community hall. They use the space to host Friday evening gatherings and a brunch for Parent's weekend.

Every Monday evening our two members, Bernie Bronstein and Stan Lembeck, collect the donations of unsold breads and pastries from the Panera store on
N. Atherton Street and deliver them on Tuesday to representatives of the Huntingdon Food Pantry on the
Jo Hays Lookout on top of Pine Grove Mountain.

Center for Community Action
Our Synagogue is a member of the Center for Community Action. We hold a position on the board for the center's Emergency Food and Shelter Program. The board allocates state and federal funds to families in need.
